Regular verbs

They studied English. Verb ending in consonant Y change to ied
travelled Verb ending in a consonant-vowel-consonant
double the final consonat + ed .
* Use the past simple to talk about things which started and finished in the past : I travelled to Egypt last year.
Irregular verbs :
I / You / He / She / It went home.
+ We / You / They had a big meal.
*Many common verbs have a simple past form.
Negative with regular and irregular verbs :
- I / You / He / She / It like the food .
didn't
We / They have a DVD player.
*The negative is the same for regular and iregular verbs
Use didn't + a verb : I didn't work last week.
They didn't get married .
